Waddapak

In my free time, I do some wandering about~ it’s just the avian within me. In my wanderings in and around Cebu, I come across certain signages that catch my eye and stun my mind with a Waddapak?! moments.

Sun BLOCK for your tires?

Now I think it’s supposed to be “TIRE BLACK” unless it’s really another brand name of a tire polish that acts on a tire like Sunblock works on the human skin but that’s too much of a stretch.

Now I do get the Deal here but come on, shouldn’t there be a more clearer, better way of stating this?

My girlfriend thinks it comes off like a trick, confuse the customer, lower their mental defences.

INVES-TAAAAY-GAAY-SHUN!

Not only do we Filipinos have the tendency to speak English with a twang, we have the tendency to SPELL English with a twang too!

Often in da Pilipins, Wicked and Wholesome side-by-side

I found this very interesting how two very unlikely things could be caught in the same frame.

One’s the billboard for a wholesome Christian musical while the other’s an advertisement banner for an arguably less-wholesome occupation.
